Jackson shooting victim in fair condition

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - A Jackson shooting victim was upgraded from critical to fair condition Monday.

According to a police report, Peter Mason came face to face with an armed intruder in his south Jackson home around 2:30 a.m. Sunday.

This all in the 2100 block of Colt Crossing in Forest Hill Place subdivision off Stable Lane.

According to Jackson Police Sergeant Brady Hightower, a gunman kicked down the door to 28-year-old Mason's home. When Mason heard the noise, he approached the intruder and was shot in the thigh.

There have been no arrests. Jackson police want your help. If you have any information about the gunman, please call JPD at 601-960-1234.
