PEARL, MS (WLBT) - A Pearl man is behind bars Wednesday on a two-million dollar bond for attacking his wife with a butcher knife.
The incident happened around 10:30 p.m. Monday at the couple's home on Oak Park Circle.
Pearl police have charged 28-year-old Aundra Jermaine Armstrong with aggravated assault against his wife, 28-year-old Zinyatta Armstrong.
According to a police spokesperson, Butch Townsend, the victim's thumb was nearly severed, and she suffered a massive wound to her head. The blade did not penetrate her skull.
Townsend said police had been at the couple's home earlier in the day to investigate a claim that Armstrong was stalking a female neighbor.
