Slick roadways cause crash on I-55

Posted: Updated:

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - As thunderstorms moved through the metro area Thursday evening, the weather proved treacherous for some motorists.

Jackson police responded to an accident on Interstate-55 South at the Fortification Street bridge.

A Ford Expedition apparently slid off the roadway and into one of the bridge pillars.

WLBT knew someone was transported to a local hospital but how many patients and their conditions are not known.
