Objects tested for oil after washing up on a Mississippi beach

Posted: Updated:

HARRISON COUNTY, MS (WLBT) - Coast Guard officials are investigating objects that washed up on a Harrison County beach Thursday.

They are trying to determine if two pieces of foam material are remnants from the BP Deepwater Horizon oil rig.

Meanwhile, at the request of the US Congress, BP has agreed to provide live streaming video from the leak site.

This, after BP acknowledged more oil is coming out than we were first led to believe.

And as thick, dark crude is creeping into the Louisiana marshlands, a sea turtle has been pulled from the muck.

It is being cleaned and treated at a New Orleans aquarium.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has given BP 24 hours to choose a less toxic form of chemical dispersant to break up the spill, citing concerns about the fragile eco-system.
