SIMPSON COUNTY, MS (WLBT) - Pavement problems on a portion of Highway 49 North caused traffic delays for a couple of hours Friday.
The mishap was located one mile past the Rankin-Simpson County line near the entrance to the Piney Woods Country Life School.
Mississippi Department of Transportation workers closed off the left lane of Highway 49 North, because the pavement had buckled.
Crews repaired the problem in about two hours, and traffic started flowing again.
