JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - A bizarre and brutal murder investigation in Jefferson County where a man was killed with a machete.
Jefferson County Sheriff Peter Walker says deputies were called to the scene after midnight on Oak Street in Fayette. There they found 49-year-old Willie Queen Jr. lying behind a house, dead from multiple lacerations.
Family members tell us Queen suffered numerous severe cuts to his face and body. Sheriff Walker has a suspect, 43 year-old-Roy Cedric Larry in custody. Investigators recovered a machete with what appears to be blood from Larry's home on nearby Cherry Street.
Queen's body is at the state crime lab for autopsy. Authorities have not yet determined a motive in this murder investigation.
