
FAYETTE, MS (WLBT) – A bizarre and brutal murder investigation this weekend in Jefferson county where a man was killed with a machete.
Jefferson County Sheriff Peter Walker said deputies were called to the scene after midnight on Oak Street in Fayette.
There they found 49-year-old Willie Queen Jr. lying behind a house dead from multiple lacerations.
Family members told WLBT that Queen suffered numerous severe cuts to the face and body.
Sheriff Walker has a suspect, 43-year-old Roy Cedric Larry in custody.
Investigators recovered a machete, with what appears to be blood, from Larry's home on nearby Cherry Street.
Queen's body was transported to the state crime lab for autopsy.
Authorities have not yet determined a motive in this murder investigation.
