VICKSBURG, MS (WLBT) - Police in Vicksburg believe they have two men who were running a laptop scam behind bars.
Thirty-one-year-old Marcus Thompson and 31-year-old Nick Thomas, both of Jackson, were arrested and charged with misdemeanor false pretense and violating the privilege tax ordinance.
Vicksburg police received a complaint about two men selling fake laptops.
During a traffic stop they discovered two computers along with several FedEx boxes bubble wrapped with laptops that weren't working or in need of extensive repairs.
This is the sixth case this year involving the laptop scam.
Authorities believe the two men are involved in the previous cases.
