
JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - A handful of local fire departments will now be able to purchase new safety equipment.
More than $30,000 in grants were handed out to the Jackson Fire Department and four Hinds County volunteer fire departments on Wednesday.
Jackson received a check for $10,400 dollars.
The remaining $20,000 dollars was equally divided between the Terry, Crossroads, Utica and Byram fire departments.
The funds were made possible by Fireman's Fund Insurance Company, Wells Fargo Insurance and Parkway Properties.
