3-year-old dies of head injuries

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Jackson police are investigating the death of a toddler.

3-year-old Montgomery Wallis died at University Medical Center Wednesday.

According to Hinds County Coroner Sharon Grisham Stewart, the little boy suffered head injuries.

JPD Officer Joseph Daughtry said Thursday this is classified as a death-pending case while investigators wait on the results from an autopsy.

The mother and others have been interviewed about what caused the toddler's death.
