Police investigate store shooting, near Chuckie's Lounge

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Jackson Police are investigating an overnight shooting that occurred outside a convenience store located at 3227 North West street.

The store is located right behind Chuckie's Lounge, a nightclub where at least six violent acts have taken place so far this year.

Just last weekend 26-year-old Marcus Smith was killed at the lounge when he was stabbed in the neck with a broken beer bottle. It is unclear if this overnight shooting involved nightclub patrons.

Our cameras captured several men being handcuffed and placed in police cruisers. Witnesses tell WLBT a female was shot and transported to a local hospital.

No word on her identity or condition.
