JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Some of the most talented dancers in the world were competing Sunday at the International Ballet Competition.  Every four years the IBC comes to Thalia Mara Hall in Jackson.  Sunday was the first day of fierce competition with 100 dancers from 34 countries.

Saturday the festivities kicked off with an Olympic style opening ceremony which featured the Bad Boys of Dance, a Maryland based group of ballet professionals.  This one of a kind competition lasts two weeks.

"I know it's corny to say, but the stars of tomorrow are really here today.  The next Baryshnikov is here.  The next Nureyev is here.  The great Makarova is here.  She is here somewhere and we're going to find them,"  said Bruce Marks, Chairman for the IBC Jury.

If you want to watch these talented dancers, there are tickets available now through June 27th.  For more information, you can call the box office at 601-973-9249.
