JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Just after sunrise Wednesday morning, crews hung flags outside Thalia Mara Hall in downtown Jackson, marking the fourth day of the International Ballet Competition.

Each flag represents one of the 35 countries represented in the competition. There are 100 dancers and 13 jurors.

Round one ends Wednesday night, and the first round of cuts will be announced Thursday.

"There's anxiousness, there's excitement. You can see all kinds of emotions on [the competitors'] faces. They are very gracious. They're willing to talk with us and they're willing to share things with us and their stories and their experiences, and so it's just been a pleasure to be around them," said Chantel Lott, public relations director for the IBC.

The competition runs through June 27th. If you'd like to purchase tickets, call the box office at (601) 973-9249.
