Jackson, MS (WLBT) - Governor Haley Barbour held a news conference this morning with Ken Feinberg about BP's escrow fund for Mississippi.
BP has hired Feinberg to mediate the claims process for people seeking damages from the company. Feinberg played a similar role after 9-11, and after Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. He's also the late Senator Ted Kennedy's former chief of staff.
We learned today that BP has already paid out some $60-million dollars in claims related to the oil disaster and $10-million of that was paid to Mississippians.
