JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - It was a violent weekend in the capital city.
There were two separate shootings at two different apartment complexes Sunday.
Jackson police have made an arrest in one of the shootings.
That one happened at the Horton Place Apartments, near the intersection of Briarwood and Horton Avenue.
Jackson police have arrested 38-year-old Cedric McCullum and charged him with two counts of aggravated assault.
Police say just before 5 p.m., McCullum shot 26-year-old Antione Parker and 49-year-old Tyrone Dewey during an argument.
Eyewitnesses said they saw McCullum pull a handgun from a backpack and fire multiple times in the direction of Parker and Dewey striking them both.
Their injuries were not life threatening.
Both were hospitalized and are in stable condition.
Just after nine, police responded to a shooting at the Columns Apartments on Northtown Drive, in north Jackson.
The victim there, 39-year-old Terry Moore, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers say he'd been shot several times as he and his girlfriend walked from the parking lot to their apartment.
There have been no arrests made in this case at this time.
Police say Moore's attacker was a black male, and he jumped into a dark-colored Chevy Avalanche with several individuals inside, fleeing the scene.
Police are still looking for that vehicle, trying to develop suspects in this case.
