OXFORD, MS (WLBT) - From all indications, the "justice for sale" investigation into Dickey Scruggs and others has come to an end.
Scruggs and several associates are in prison in connection with a judicial bribery case.
Now WLBT is told federal prosecutors have ended their criminal investigation into Scruggs' longtime friend and associate P.L. Blake.
Blake was another face in the complex web of scandal linking some of Mississippi's most powerful and politically-connected players.
Blake is the individual who was paid $50 million to clip articles for Scruggs.
His Alabama attorney Doug Jones said Tuesday he was told about two to three months ago the matter had been closed into Blake's connection with Scruggs.
