JPS Environmental Learning Center Camp

Posted: Updated:

Jackson, MS (WLBT) - School may be out but learning continues for students at the JPS Environmental Learning camp.

Wednesday, participants got a first hand look at one of Jackson's crime fighting tools.  Metro One landed and campers got a chance to meet the pilot and look inside the cockpit.  And they're learning how Metro One helps the environment.

Noah Gray is director of the camp and says, "We keep the environment clean, clean air, clean water, the helicopter is metro one and they keep the neighborhood clean...it's a tool that we utilize all year.

"This is my son's second year here at the program and the fishing, the hiking, the row-boating, experiments with water, it helps them in school throughout the year," says Christina Williams.

The camp is held every year during the summer.
