Woman struck by car in Holmes County

HOLMES COUNTY, MS (WLBT) - A woman was killed in Holmes County Wednesday morning after a car plowed into her.

The accident happened on Highway 17 just outside of Lexington.

According to Sgt. James Walker with the Mississippi Highway Patrol, 58-year-old Viola Nu-tall was standing behind her broken-down car and was apparently trying to push it off the highway when she was struck by a 1997 Oldsmobile Delta 88.

Nu-tall was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other driver was not hurt.
