
BRANDON, Miss. (AP) - A former Union police officer has been arrested following an indictment on charges of having sex with a female inmate.
The Clarion-Ledger reports 47-year-old Darryl Dukes is being held at the Rankin County Jail without bond.
According to the indictment, Duke allegedly had sex with the inmate in August 2007 while attending a training course at the Mississippi Law Enforcement Officers Training Academy in Pearl.
It is a felony offense for a law enforcement officer to have sex with an inmate and is punishable by a fine of up to $5,000, five years in jail or both.
It was not immediately known whether Dukes has an attorney.
