NEW YORK (AP) - The lesbian teenager who sued her Mississippi school district over its policy banning same-sex prom dates has been making some high-profile appearances in recent months.
Constance McMillen has traveled the country and even been to the White House. On Sunday, she's scheduled to be 1 of 3 grand marshals in the city's annual Pride March.
McMillen filed suit in March against the Itawamba County School District when a school prom was canceled after she asked to bring her girlfriend and wear a tuxedo.
Since then, she has made appearances on programs including the "The Early Show," "The Wanda Sykes Show" and "The Ellen DeGeneres Show."
