Jackson, MS (WLBT)- Jackson's businesses and residents continue to cope in day two of a city wide boil water notice.
It was out of character but Friday the Jackson Ice Plant, had to rely on a delivery of ice from Louisiana to keep their customers cool. They too effected under the boil water notice.
Area grocery stores report a run on ice and bottled water.
Neill Washburn of McDade's Market in Belhaven says, "We had a lot of customers coming in here that were buying gallons of water, pretty panicked because of what happened last time, I'm sure but we took care of our customers we had plenty of water."
Jackson city workers began testing the water at a facet behind the Eudora Welty library. They will have to collect samples at 120 sites across the city. If the samples pass state testing two days in a row, the water will be safe to drink again.
There was little activity at the site of the leak Friday. The 54 inch pipe that had a cap come loose, causing much of the city to lose water, now fixed and covered in dirt.
