Copiah county man fatally shot by stepson

WESSON, MS (WLBT) – A Copiah county man is dead, reportedly shot and killed by his stepson.

Copiah County Deputy Coroner Dr. Richard Akin said 41 year old Matthew Alan Miller Sr. died after nine o'clock  Friday night.

He was fatally shot at his Wesson home on Wooten Lane.

Miller suffered to gunshot wounds to the upper torso.

Officials said he was shot during an argument Friday evening with his stepson.

The Copiah County Sheriff's Department is investigating.

Authorities would not release the name of the step son.

It is not known if he is in custody or what charges he faces.
