JACKSON, MS (WLBT) – It was a comic book lovers paradise this weekend in the capital city.
The Mississippi Southern Fried Comic Con was held at the Cabot Lodge in Jackson.
The annual convention promotes the comic book industry and pop culture.
For the first time this year a costume contest featured comic book heroes and villains.
Artists and dealers from several states were there.
Hundreds have attended the Southern Fried version of comic con seeking rare comic books, toys and other collectibles.
"We also have dealers from all across the southeastern states. We've got comic books, toys, statues, movie posters, movie memorabilia, t-shirts, just pretty much anything you can hope for," said Mississippi Southern Fried Comic Con Chairman Jay Long.
The Mississippi comic convention is in its third year.
