Posted: Updated:

RIDGELAND, MS (WLBT) - Ridgeland authorities know the names of both men who videotaped themselves harassing a cyclist on the Natchez Trace and posted it on the web.

Police Chief Jimmy Houston has identified them Wednesday as Brad Russell and Joel Chandler.

Two weeks ago, they deliberately sped past a biker and spewed a cloud of dark smoke from the vehicle.  They uploaded their dangerous antics to YouTube.

The video has since been removed.

Chief Houston said the next step is for the cyclist to file charges.

WLBT has received a number a comments about this story on our website.

One person had this to say:  "I'm so impressed by the ignorance of the Mississippi residents on this issue.  Running, cycling, skiing, wakeboarding, whatever.  You don't mess with people's lives like this."

Another viewer wrote the following:  "I wouldn't have gone as far as smoking the guy out, but I understand why he did it.  The bikers are in the way of traffic."
