JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - The 26-year-old man charged with the murder of his 28-year-old girlfriend, in the apartment where they were living, was screaming at someone in very vulgar language as he was taken from the scene Wednesday in the back of a police car, in handcuffs.

It happened between 2 and 2:30 a.m.  Deputy Police Chief of Detectives Brent Wintstead gave WLBT News this account.

Charles Kuebler has been arrested and charged with murder, in reference to a homicide that occurred this morning at 914 Morningside," said Winstead.  "The victim is a Tamara Stuckey, age 26.  She is an acquaintance of the suspect."

Police towed the suspect's GMC sports utility vehicle later Wednesday morning.  It was very difficult to get anybody on the street to talk to WLBT, but one person, who lived in the same apartment building where the shooting took place, 21-year-old Melanie Stark did speak with us.

"I'm shocked, but I'm not surprised that this happened in our neighborhood.  We've had break ins and stuff," said Stark.

This is a quiet peaceful neighborhood called Belhaven Heights, east of Jefferson Street.  The young lady who spoke with us was the only person who would talk.
