Police investigate fatal interstate crash

PEARL, MS (WLBT) – Fourth of July travel took a deadly turn Saturday in Rankin County.

Around 1:30 p.m. Pearl police were called to the scene of a fatal accident in the west bound lane of Interstate 20 near Pearson Road.

One unidentified person died at the scene.

A dark colored late model truck was involved in that accident.

Pearl police have not released any details.

Traffic was brought to a standstill and had to be rerouted while the wreck was cleared.
