CANTON, MS (WLBT) - This Independence Day families are gathering across the metro area to celebrate our country.
In Canton dozens came together to celebrate with music. Canton's Black Heritage committee held their annual Gospel Fest Homecoming Sunday in the city's historic square.
Inspirational gospel artists like Grady Chapman and Keith "Wonderboy" Johnson performed for the crowd. Food and fun activities were also planned for the event.
"It's to bring in artists and its to showcase young people in the community that has talent," said Jewel Williams, Chairperson of the Black Heritage Committee.
"It's really doing what its supposed to do, teaching people to fellowship and get together and worship without just being in church. You can do it any place, anywhere," said Gospel artist Grady Chapman.
