Gas prices drop after holiday weekend

JACKSON, MS WLBT)--New This Morning! Gas prices are starting to drop after the holiday weekend.

According to the AAA, the national average for a gallon of regular unleaded is $2.72.

That's 2.6 cents lower than the price on the Friday, just before the holiday weekend.

But keep in mind, prices are *still* 11 cents a gallon higher than a year ago.

Here in the metro, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gas is $2.39.
