RIDGELAND, MS (WLBT) - Former Ridgeland alderman Mike Crook has filed a lawsuit Wednesday against the City of Ridgeland and some city officials.
Crook, who is also a former Madison County chancery clerk , is seeking 700-thousand dollars in damages.
He claimed he was the victim of a false arrest in 2008, when he was charged with disorderly conduct and failure to comply with a police officer's order.
Crook said he was not driving when a Ridgeland police officer demanded to see his driver's license.
A Madison County Court judge found Crook not guilty, saying he could not be punished for refusing to identify himself.
