HINDS COUNTY, MS (WLBT) - A 62-year-old Jackson woman is behind bars on drug charges Thursday night.
The Hinds County Sheriff's Department was acting on a tip when narcotics officers searched Millie Steverson's Milo Street residence.
They found a 20-pound "brick" of marijuana, 11 more pounds of pot, crack cocaine and ecstasy.
"She's been charged with a possession of controlled substance and sale of controlled substance. She maintains that this marijuana was for her personal use so, at this time, we haven't charged her with the possession with intent to deliver," said Hind's County Sheriff Malcolm McMillin.
McMillin said the drugs have a street value of $200 thousand.
Deputies also seized $2,000 cash and a large caliber handgun.
McMillin said Steverson is no stranger to the law, so she faces additional charges of being a felon in possession of a handgun and receiving stolen property.
She had a stolen 2008 Lexus in her backyard.
Millie Steverson is in the Hinds County Detention Center without bond.
