Jackson, MS (WLBT) - A dangerous criminal is off the streets after he held two men up in north Jackson.

The robbery occurred on Woodhill Drive in the Woodhaven subdivision.

The victims, Earnest Cook IV and Earnest Cook III, own Cooks Lawn Service. They were on a lawn when a man jumped out of a silver Ford Taurus.

While he was cutting grass, a man put a gun to the neck of Earnest Cook IV, demanding his wallet. When his dad approached to see what was going on, he was robbed as well. The man took the wallets then jumped in the car which took off. The cooks had enough presence to take down the tag number and call police, who immediately began searching for the gunman.

"It's very upsetting; I'm out here trying to do a job. I'm out here trying to make a living honestly and this is what happens. I just hope they can catch them because next time he might not be so lucky with the next person," said Cook IV.

The story had a good ending.

Within an hour Jackson police tracked down the gunman, who is identified as Bobby Allen of Jackson. He was arrested and charged with two counts of armed robbery.

Police say he has a criminal record.
