Brandon man charged for scamming hunters

RANKIN COUNTY, MS (WLBT) - A Brandon man is charged with false pretense for scamming hunters in Rankin County.

Thirty-seven-year-old Marious Ware allegedly leased land to local hunters that was not his to lease.

The alleged victims said they paid Ware approximately $2,000 to lease the land for deer season.

On opening day the victims learned they were trespassing.

The actual property owners told investigators they did not give permission for Ware to lease the land.

Ware is out on $5,000 bond.
