Woman dies in Miss. motorcycle crash

SOUTHAVEN, Miss. (AP) - A 23-year-old woman Florida has been killed in a Mississippi motorcycle crash.

Southaven Police Chief Steve Pirtle tells The Commercial Appeal that Bebe Schiefer, a University of Mississippi student from Panama City Beach, Fla., was pronounced dead on the scene Wednesday night.

Pirtle says Schiefer died when she apparently lost control of her motorcycle on a local road as she drove into a curve. He says her motorcycle went off the road, struck a fire hydrant and Schiefer was thrown from the motorcycle.
