RANKIN COUNTY, MS (WLBT) - A wreck in Rankin County kills a small child.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol confirms the fatal accident happened one mile east of the east Brandon exit at the 60 mile marker of I-20.

A car was traveling with a U-Haul trailer when it ran off the roadway in the west bound lanes. It crashed into some trees killing a young girl. No word on other injuries.

MHP says Brandon police worked this accident.

But when we called them for additional information, a Brandon P.D. dispatcher told us, " We would have to call back Monday."
