Man sentenced to life for murder conviction

HINDS COUNTY, MS (WLBT) - A Hinds County man will spend the rest of his life behind bars for the murder of an elderly neighbor.

A jury found 31-year-old Stephan Hickman of Jackson guilty of the September 2007 murder of 71-year-old Jesse Reed.

Hickman was then sentenced to life without the possibility of parole. Authorities say Hickman abducted Reed, shot him and took his car and credit cars. The defendant lived near the victim.
