JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - The University of Mississippi Medical Center is taking part in a national study on aging.
Researchers will study dementia and Alzheimer's disease by mapping a more than 20-year period in the lives of thousands of people. The goal is to identify risk factors for cognitive decline.
UMMC will share in a $26 million dollar grant from the National Institutes of Health.
The funding will be divided among UMMC, the University of Minnesota, Wake Forest University, Johns Hopkins University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
