JPD detective dies from pre-existing condition

JACKSON, MS (WLBT)--We have new details surrounding the sudden death of JPD detective, Sharesa Sparkman.

According to the Clarion Ledger, the 37 year old was diagnosed with breast cancer just a few years ago.

She underwent chemotherapy and actually beat the cancer.

Sparkman went back to work and later became one of the few female homicide investigators in the capital city's detective bureau.

But despite her strength, she died Monday evening while working out at a local gym.

Hinds County coroner, Sharon Grisham-Stewart, says her death was from natural causes resulting from a pre-existing condition.
