JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - A Jackson father has been named the 2010 Mississippi Parent Of The Year.
Twenty-four year old Curtis Jones was chosen by the state board of education. His daughter attends Johns Hopkins Elementary and he is actively involved with the school.
Jones is a member of watch D.O.G.S. Which stands for dads of great students program. He assists teachers in the classroom, chaperones field trips and volunteers countless hours mentoring students.
Jones was also recognized by JPS as the first-ever outstanding dad of the quarter. He is a military mechanic in the united states marines.
