
JACKSON, MS (WLBT) – Jackson firefighters battled an apartment blaze in the pouring rain Saturday afternoon.
At least two families were left homeless after fire started in their west Jackson apartment complex.
Jackson Fire Department Division Chief R. D. Simpson said crews responded to that blaze at the Park Side Apartments at 5610 Shaw Road.
Fire officials said two units were damaged, a ground level apartment where the fire is believed to have started and the apartment above it.
Firefighters were called to the scene around 2:40 p.m.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
