JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - It was a lively Saturday night on Farish Street in downtown Jackson. Crowds continued to come out for F. Jones Corner's first beer and bones backyard grilling competition. Grill masters competed in chicken, baked beans, burgers and ribs. Local artists got in on the fun by displaying their work while musicians entertained the hungry crowd. Organizers said Jackson residents want events like this downtown.
"It was actually a culmination of a couple people, Justin Gann, Adam Hayes, just sat down about it. It seemed like a good fit. I think Jackson wants this kind of outdoor entertainment outside. We're the entertainment district. Let's entertain the people," said F. Jones Corner owner Daniel Dillon.
Live local bands were scheduled to perform until after midnight.
