Man gets 35 years for Stone Co. rape - MSNewsNow.com - Jackson, MS
WIGGINS, Miss. (AP) - Circuit Judge John Gargiulo has sentenced 29-year-old Anthony Mercie Expose to 35 years in prison for the rape of a woman in Stone County.
The judge sentenced Expose Wednesday immediately after a jury found him guilty in a 2-day trial.
Assistant District Attorney Beth McFadyen tells The Sun Herald that Expose claimed he had consensual sex with the woman, whom he'd known less than a week.
McFadyen said Expose had been out of prison about two months on a residential burglary conviction when the woman was raped on March 28, 2009.
