HINDS COUNTY, MS (WLBT) - A standoff at a home on Tank Road in Hinds County ended peacefully Friday afternoon.
Sheriff's deputies had gone to the home to arrest a man suspected of shooting into a relative's house.
When deputies got there, the man went inside with his elderly mother and would not come out.
A hostage negotiator and numerous officers were brought in as a precaution. Then, at about 5:30 p.m., the man surrendered peacefully.
He's identified as Robert Kent Watts, 47, of Terry, and he's charged with shooting into an occupied dwelling.
No one was injured.
