LEE COUNTY, MS (WLBT) - The Lee County Schools superintendent files a lawsuit against Mississippi Democratic Party Chairman Jamie Franks.

Superintendent Mike Scott claims Franks tried to commit extortion by pressuring him to resign over an affair with Frank's wife.

In the lawsuit, Scott who is married claims he quote "succumbed to human weakness and engaged in a voluntary sexual relationship" with Alisa Franks. She is an employee of the school district.

Jamie and Alisa Franks divorced last month. On July first Jamie Franks told the Lee County School board that he planned to file a half million dollar alienation of affection lawsuit against the district over the affair.

Yesterday Franks said he has not yet filed his alienation of affection lawsuit.
