Escaped Miss. inmates captured in Fla.

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - State officials say two Simpson County Community Work Center inmates, who had escaped from a work detail Friday, have been captured in Santa Rose County, Fla.

The Clarion-Ledger reports 32-year-old William King Caison and 37-year-old Shawn Paul Meek were on a work detail in Smith County when they took a work van.

Meek and Caison were caught Friday night.

Caison has been serving a 10-year sentence for embezzlement from Forrest County since November 2009. Meek is serving two sentences: five years on methamphetamine possession from Scott County and one year and six months for credit card fraud in Madison County. He has been in state custody since February 2009.

Both men now face an escape charge.
