SENATOBIA, Miss. (AP) - W.E. "Bill" Callicott, a Senatobia businessman who served three terms in the Mississippi House and three terms as mayor of his north Mississippi town, has died. He was 86.
Callicott died Sunday at the Trinity Hospice at Baptist Hospital East in Memphis. Services are scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Senatobia Presbyterian Church with burial in Bethesda Cemetery, according to officials at Pate-Jones Funeral Home in Senatobia.
Callicott was owner of the Callicott Insurance Agency, a business his grandfather began in 1915. He served in the House from 1960 to 1976, where he was chairman of the Municipalities Committee.
He later served as mayor of Senatobia for three terms.
He is survived by his two sons, five grandchildren and a sister.
