Toddler dies after being run over

MADISON COUNTY, MS (WLBT) - Tragedy strikes in Madison County when a child dies after being run over by a pickup truck. 

It happened Tuesday afternoon on Meadowgreen Lane in the Deerfield subdivision. That's off North Old Canton Road, east of Gluckstadt.

Madison County coroner Alex Breeland says Lauren Shaw, 2-1/2, was pronounced dead at a Jackson hospital. He says she was apparently running after her father as he was leaving the house in his truck. He accidentally ran over her.

No charges are expected to be filed.
