JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Just days after WLBT aired a story on a road project that was abandoned in Jackson, city crews responded with hard work.  On Wednesday crews were repaving Berkley Drive off Eastover Drive.

A week ago Minnie Alvis called 3 On Your Side because she was frustrated with the lack of response from the City of Jackson.  Alvis had asked city leaders to repave her neighborhood for more than a year.  Crews finally showed up in May but abandoned the project after just one day.  They left behind pot holes and loose gravel.

When WLBT called the city, a spokesperson said the crews ran out of materials and would restart the project this week.

"We really appreciate what Channel 3 did for us, and we appreciate what the city has done in their prompt response.  It has been wonderful," said Alvis, who has lived on Berkley Drive for 50 years.

On Monday morning the crews arrived and on Wednesday were about half way done repaving Alvis' neighborhood.
