CLINTON, MS (WLBT) - A local newspaper won't be on paper much longer.
The Clinton News, which has been published since 1949, will print its final newspaper next Thursday, August 5.
In a letter printed in the latest edition, president and publisher Larry Whitaker says there is simply not enough advertising to support the continued production of the weekly newspaper.
He says the paper's website, www.clintonnews.com, will continue, and there will be a single page of Clinton news stories each Thursday in The Clarion-Ledger. Both papers are owned by the Virginia-based Gannett Co.
