Widow of slain George Co. Sherrif will fill his post

GEORGE COUNTY, MS (WLBT) - The widow of a murdered George County Sheriff will fill her husband's office.

Larry Welford was killed July 21st when a speeding pickup truck ran over him while trying to evade a road block.

Two people have been charged with capital murder in his death. Friday, the George County Board of supervisors announced Debbie Welford will fill the post until a special November election.
