JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - The deadline is drawing near for grants to help people build storm-safety rooms in their homes.
The Mississippi Emergency Management agency says the state can reimburse up to 75% of eligible costs, that's up to four-thousand dollars for single-family shelters.
MEMA Director Mike Womack says priority will be given to those whose homes were damaged or destroyed by tornadoes and flooding on April 24th and May first. Next Saturday will be the last day to apply.
